  • Experience must be from a dedicated children's facility, not a general or adult facility with experience from a peds unit
  • Seeking strong pediatric ICU skill set; therapists who can jump in and work across at least two of the three ICUs including a Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or the Cardiothoracic ICU
  • Patient Population: Pediatric care from acute care on the floors, pulmonary floor (treating pts with asthma, bronchiolitis, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, cystic fibrosis, tracheostomy-ventilated support), trauma, Medical (treating pts with bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia), PICU (treating mostly intubated pts and therapies including specialty gases heliox/iNO), NICU and CTICU where heart transplants are performed. High acuity Level 4 NICU. High acuity patients on floors.

    • California RCP License in hand
    • RRT national credential required; RRT-NPS preferred
    • 2 years' of recent pediatric ICU experience from a children's hospital
    • Experience with trachs and vents, suctioning, and oxygen. No specialty or blood gases needed.
    • BLS (AHA)
    • PALS (AHA)
    • NRP (AHA) - Must be Advanced; Essential no longer accepted. Must have in hand or registered for an Advanced class in which they will have in hand prior to start date.

      • Schedule Information
      • 3x12 Nights
      • Weekend shifts per contract: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. It will be 2 full weekends in a 4-week schedule block. Scheduling blocks are 4 weeks long. They try to schedule staff and travelers every other weekend off, if possible, but not guaranteed. Night shift weekends are considered Fridays and Saturdays
      • RTO: 6 days max. All RTO required up front, no exceptions
      • *Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holidays

        • Unit Profiles: Strong pediatric ICU skill set needed; therapists who can work across Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or Cardiothoracic ICU
          • Additional Details
          • Valid photo ID is required. Must have front and back copies. Traveler must present on their first day.
          • Orientation Information - sent out on the Thursday before a Monday start. The candidate must bring the following docs on their first day: Driver's license or valid photo ID, Professional license hard copy (RN license, OT license etc), All certifications needed for the position
