Air and Ocean Operations Agent

Job Description:
The Air and Ocean Operations Agent assists with all aspects and the overall day to day operational function in the air and ocean department.

Essential Job Duties include but not limited to:

• Shipment Processing
  
  • Manages air and ocean import arrivals, Customs clearances, and trucking dispatch
    
  • Communicates with clients to arrange shipment pickups or deliveries
    
  • Prepares airline, ocean carrier, and trucking documentation
    
  • Decides best airline, ocean carrier, and trucking vendor choices
    
  • Communicates with overseas partners to develop business and coordinate shipments
    
  • Assist to develop and streamline internal procedures
  • Quotes
    
    • Quotes Direct clients, and overseas agent partners as necessary
      
    • Assists sales in costing and quoting functions for business development
    • Accounting
      
      • Assist to improve costing from airlines, ocean carriers, and vendors
        
      • Invoice shipments to clients and agents, ensuring profitability
        Job Qualifications and Skills:
        
        • Minimum 1 year Air and Ocean Export experience is preferred but not required.
          
        • Strong verbal and written skills
          
        • Ability to multitask consistently
          
        • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word
          
        • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
          
        • Ability to work well in flexible, changing industry environment
          
        • Requires mathematical and analytical skills in developing and interpreting financial/data records.
          
        • Is proactive and self-starting team player
          
        • Ability to effectively communicate ideas
